PM pranked Odisha & forgot his April Fools’ promises: Rahul Gandhi

Rahul Gandhi

Reminding Prime Minister Narendra Modi of his unfulfilled promise he had made to the people of Odisha on April 1, 2015, Congress president Rahul Gandhi said the Congress Party has begun a fundraiser to shame the former into keeping the promise he made.

“On 1st April, 2015 the PM played an April Fools’ Day joke on the people of Orissa, as seen in this video. The Congress party has begun a fund raise to shame the PM into keeping the promise he made. Please contribute generously using this link: https://contribute.inc.in/fundraiser/Odishahospital,” Gandhi tweeted.

Along with the tweet, the Congress president also attached a link which is a Congress party initiative of raising funds for people, development, and anything which would help the country move forward and overpower lies.

The fund which the Congress is raising and the link of which the Gandhi scion attached to his tweet, is aimed at raising money for upgrading Ispat General Hospital in Odisha, to a super speciality hospital and constructing a bridge, the promise of which was made by Prime Minister Modi three years back on April 1, 2015.

The issue came to notice when 30-year-old Muktikanta Biswas from Odisha decided to walk 1600 kilometres to Delhi to remind PM Modi of his unfulfilled promise.

The video attached with Gandhi’s tweet talks about his story and highlights the poor state of healthcare in the state.

Villagers of Rourkela have been suffering every day in Biswal’s village because of inadequate medical facilities.

The initiative taken by the Congress and its president taking it forward through the reach he has is commendable. If the PM doesn’t remember his responsibilities then it’s the Opposition duty to remind him of the same.
