Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah faced major embarrassment after he dropped the National Flag of India, during the flag hoisting ceremony on the occasion of the 72nd Independence Day at the party headquarter in Delhi.
As Shah tugged at the string to unfurl the Indian tricolour, it fell on the ground.
Twitterati was quick enough to catch the moment and Shah had to face massive trolling on social media.

Congress also used this opportunity to mock the BJP president and wrote in its tweet that those who cannot handle the national flag how will the handle the country?

The event was being broadcast live on Doordarshan channel. Even the anchor hosting the live show could not hold himself back from saying ‘disaster’ when the flag fell.
A parody account of former Union Minister Arun Shourie also took to Twitter and said he wanted Amit Shah to hear ‘disaster’, the word uttered by the DD anchor.
